<p>You only have to look online to see the number of easy weight loss systems available but what most people forget to mention is how important the individual losing the weight is! Your primary reason for losing weight must be clear whether it is to improve your looks or for health reasons; once you know this, then you must decide.</p>
<p>Effective weight loss programs require you take certain facts into consideration; for instance, the time you eat during the day as well as what it is you eat, how often and whether you exercise at all. Many people have unrealistic expectations about how much weight they should lose every month but weight loss should not be rapid which can have a serious impact on your health.</p>
<p>To lose a realistic pound in weight each and every week all you need to do is reduce your food intake or exercise enough to loose 500 calories each day. <p>Billions of dollars are spent each year on programs that just don&#8217;t work. The majority of these programs state to just cut the calories and you will shed the pounds. The problem is not losing the pounds, but in keeping them off.</p>
<p>Most people have tried just about everything to lose and maintain their weight loss, but unsuccessfully. They go from one weight loss program to another, hoping each will help them achieve their goal of a permanent weight loss.</p>
<p>I will be sharing, with you, in this article, some simple secrets to permanent weight loss, and the best way to achieve your goal and get permanent results.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re the only one who can take control of your life! No one can do this for you. You need to do this! Food has always been used as an emotional crutch, and you need to separate the two, food from emotion.</p>
<p>Try to forget about how your body looks and concentrate on its function and what it does for you. It&#8217;s normal for a woman, or young girl to dream about looking like the models on the cover of magazines, but don&#8217;t.</p>
<p>One of the ways, and the best, to keep weight off, is to lower your bodies set point. Set point means the weight your body should be at normally. It&#8217;s necessary to reduce your fat intake, and this can be done a number of ways. Eat leaner meat and consume low of no fat products, and increase your muscle mass with exercise. Control your eating habits and exercise, or increase your exercise, if you are exercising now.</p>
<p>Cutting out fat. You need to start small and slowly. You can start to use skim milk and add no butter on breads.</p>
<p>If you have been eating some low fat foods, continue, and add different other types of low fat foods to your diet.</p>
<p>Keep a dairy of everything you eat. Then you can see just how much fat you are taking in, and lower it.</p>
<p>Do some form of exercise everyday. I can&#8217;t stress enough just how important this is. It&#8217;s the way your body builds muscle and muscle burns fat, and more efficiently, than when not exercising. This will speed up your metabolism. Start slow and work your way to longer sessions of walking or whatever form of exercise you choose to do.</p>
<p>This method will not only allow you to lose all your extra weight, but will cure any diseases that might be associated with being over weight.</p>

<p>People used to think visualization was a fairy tale, but this technique is much more acceptable in recent years. By working at visualization you can create a clear picture of ourselves at our ideal weight in our minds. Once we truly believe that this is how we should look, the subconscious mind starts working to make it happen. This still may sound like crackpot science to you but, whether you think visualization works or not, you and everyone else uses it constantly.</p>
<p>A common example of visualization being used in a negative way can be seen in overweight people who firmly believe they will never lose weight. They won&#8217;t tell you this is their belief in so many words, but you can tell that they mentally see themselves as an overweight person. People like couldn&#8217;t accept weight loss even if it did occur. Even if they somehow were able to drop a few pounds, their subconscious mind will get them right back to looking like the vision they have of themselves. Without realizing it, these people have programmed their subconscious minds in such a way that it will be impossible for them to ever succeed in losing weight permanently! They never will be successful until they change the vision they have of themselves.</p>
<p>Now here is the big secret to visualization. Psychologists have known something about the human mind for years: it cannot hold conflicting beliefs at the same time. For instance, you cannot believe that you are an excellent speaker and a terrible speaker at the same time. Also, things that happen that go against what you believe create conflict. Using our speaker example, if you knew I mean absolutely KNEW you were a terrible speaker but you got up and gave a terrific speech, you would feel conflict inside. Your mind would actually work to minimize your accomplishment. You may have even heard people that have given good speeches say, afterwards, that they really are not very good at public speaking.</p>
<p>So think about what this means. Using visualization, if you get yourself to the point that you really believe that you should be thin, your mind will have conflict when evidence is presented to the contrary (like looking in the mirror). To handle this, your brain needs to either remove or resolve the conflict. Most people will just give up and say &#8220;I&#8217;m hopelessly fat&#8221;, but some can look in that mirror and say &#8220;THAT IS NOT ME!&#8221;. They have convinced themselves that they are a thin person temporarily trapped in an overweight body. Once this happens, you may just hear yourself saying something like &#8220;Ice cream makes me feel bloated. No thanks.&#8221; Your mind is leading you to do (and not do) the things that will make your self image a reality, and resolve the conflict!</p>
<p>Most of us are surrounded by negative images and words from friends, family or even our own minds. Fortunately, nothing can really stop you from using visualization if you really want to change. Just create that vivid, emotional image of yourself at your desired weight. Since you have probably tried many other ways to lose weight, why not try it? Your extra weight is the only thing you may lose! If you are determined and Work hard at creating vivid images to counteract the negative images you have now, you could change your future.</p>
<p>Several times a day you should practice visualizing your new image. Weight loss is important and to break out of the negative cycle you are in, you will need to make a concerted effort. Take any spare minutes you have during the day to practice making the image more and more vivid and infused with emotion. This type of thing is easy for some people, but for most of us it takes some practice to get it right. A good technique to help get you started is to find a photograph of yourself from the past at your target weight and focus on that. If you do not have a picture like that, cut a picture of someone else that has the physique you are looking for out of a magazine and paste your face onto it. Use any other technique you can think of to make your vision more vivid and real.</p>
<p>Think of yourself as being at your ideal weight already. Visualize yourself being thin doing what you are doing right now. Create positive affirmative statements and memorize them, and repeat them to yourself often. One example could be &#8220;I&#8217;m glad that I&#8217;m flexible, fit and slim&#8221;, another could be &#8220;I like being thin more than I like fattening foods&#8221;. You will find that, over time, your affirmations will keep you from things that can make you gain weight. Eating fattening food will become less appealing and increasing physical activity will be a lot more enjoyable. The fat loss will not be fast, but it will be steady and, more importantly, you will visualization is working. You will realize that by using visualization you can finally control your weight for the rest of your life!</p>

<p>There&#8217;s a clever little line in the Jimmy Buffet lyrics &#8220;Fruitcakes&#8221; when his &#8216;lady&#8217; is lamenting: &#8220;I treat my body like a temple, You treat yours like a tent&#8221;</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t help thinking about this line whenever I think about all the people around the world who are on these garbage in, garbage out diet plans hoping to achieve the weight loss success of those who are endorsing the items.</p>
<p>To be totally honest, it is possible to lose pounds through dieting alone. It is difficult but possible. It is also possible to be physically fit and still have a few extra pounds. To a large part, we are what we eat. If we follow a high fat low fibre diet our bodies are going to lack the fuel needed to burn the fat. At the same time if we are not providing our bodies with the tools it needs to create muscle it does not matter how many weights we lift.</p>
<p>When it comes to diet and fitness, the best results are achieved when they are combined together rather. Use your fitness routine to burn surplus calories and use your diet in order to provide your body with the nutrients and fuel it needs to build muscle.</p>
<p>A pound of muscle occupies less space on the body than a pound of fat. Pound for pound, I would much rather mine be built of muscle than fat. Dieting alone does not build muscle and that is something you would do well to remember.</p>
<p>You should also realize that as you are building muscle you may be shedding inches while not showing a great deal of progress on the scale. It is very important that you bear this in mind throughout the weight loss process. Do not measure your progress by the scales alone or you will observe deceptive results.</p>
<p>The difficulty is that far too many people do just this, get discouraged and give up when they are actually making progress. Do not allow yourself to be a victim of the scales. Look in the mirror, try on your tight slacks, and measure your waistline. Measure your success by how you feel after climbing a flight of stairs not by the scales.</p>
<p>By incorporating exercise into your diet routine you are also enabling your body to burn off any extra calories you may have consumed during the day. This means that if you want to have a small &#8216;cheat&#8217; during your day, you can make up for it by burning a few more calories than usual in the evening. This is not something that should happen often but an infrequent occurrence is not going to make or break your diet.</p>
<p>You should also consider dieting and exercise as a hand and glove type of relationship. They fit together. Diet and fitness when combined can achieve fantastic weight loss results for those who take them both sincerely.</p>
<p>The thing to remember is that neither works well alone and neither will work unless you are willing to do the work. You must make this a priority in your life in order to achieve the best possible results.</p>

<p>In Europe and Asia, chaga has been used for centuries to treat cancers of the heart and liver, digestive ailments, and tuberculosis. [121]</p>
<p>The traditional use was to peel the black skin of the mushroom and then boil it into a tea. Being a compact and easily portable medicinal made it very valuable to healers throughout history.</p>
<p>Today&#8217;s scientific focus on chaga extract is primarily as an anti-tumor remedy. In fact, it was approved in Russia as a cancer drug already in 1955, successfully used to treat cancers of the stomach, lungs, breasts and cervix. [122]</p>
<p>A 1998 study on chaga extract showed that it did inhibit growth of cervical cancer in a lab. [123] And a 1995 study reported both growth inhibition and death of melanoma cells, also in a lab (<i>in vitro</i>). [124, 25]</p>
<p>Further research has confirmed that some of the active compounds of Siberian chaga do decrease cancer cell growth. [125, 126]</p>
<p>Betulin is a medically active compound from the birch tree that gets concentrated in the black outer skin of the chaga mushroom, which has been found to contain 30% betulin, [127] whereas the inside of the chaga mushroom contains fungal lanostanes. It would therefore be suggested that chaga tea is better made from the whole mushroom, including the black skin.</p>
<p>The best chaga extracts are made not only from the whole mushroom fruit body but also the mycelia (&#8220;roots&#8221;), which contain more medically active protein compounds than the fruit bodies.</p>
<p>Other research has found chaga to possess powerful anti-viral properties. In 1996, two studies published results of inhibitory effects on both influenza virus [127] and HIV. [128] Considering the nature of viruses, the most likely scenario is that chaga works on viruses by enhancing the body&#8217;s own immune system, a theory confirmed by a paper published in 2002 and another in 2005. [25, 129] The same mechanism may explain the reported anti-inflammatory effect of chaga. [130]</p>
<p>Furthermore, alcohol extract of chaga mushroom has been found to lower blood sugar levels. [131] Chaga also demonstrates significant antioxidant properties that help protect the genetic integrity of the cells. [132, 133]</p>
<p>As an interesting anecdote that does not relate to human health but demonstrates the curative power of the Chaga mushroom, Paul Stamets mentions a Quebec arborist who uses a chaga poultice to cure chestnut blight. It not only cures the infection but the tree even becomes blight resistant after treatment. [134]</p>
